Target Group for General Scaffolding Training
This scaffolding training course is aimed at individuals who, in their work, come into contact with scaffold assembly. There is also a requirement that those who supervise the work must have the correct training and knowledge in scaffold assembly. Working from a scaffold does not require training; however, training is required to participate in scaffold assembly, make changes to the scaffold’s load-bearing structure, and dismantle a scaffold. This means that most professional groups within the construction industry benefit from this training — including scaffolders, solar panel installers, carpenters, painters, roofers, and others.
What Is Included in a Scaffolding Course?
A general scaffolding training course for heights of 2–9 meters provides participants with the knowledge required to plan, assemble, use, and inspect scaffolds safely. The course follows the requirements of the Arbetsmiljöverket and covers legislation, safety principles, and technical fundamentals.
The training includes, among other things:
Rules and Responsibilities: Roles and obligations of the client, employer, and employee, as well as what is required to comply with legal requirements.
Risk Assessment and Safety Planning: Identification of fall risks, collapse risks, weather impact, and other factors affecting safety.
Types of Scaffolds and Construction: Review of different scaffolding systems, materials, components, anchoring methods, and stability principles.
Load and Dimensioning: How the scaffold is adapted to the work being performed, number of workers, and materials without exceeding permitted loads.
Fall Protection and Access: How guardrails, access routes, and personal protective equipment are used to minimize accident risks.
Inspection and Maintenance: Procedures for inspection, documentation, and recurring checks of the scaffold.
In summary, the training provides a clear understanding of how to work safely and efficiently with scaffolds up to 9 meters in height, with a strong focus on safety, planning, and responsibility.
To erect scaffolds with a final height exceeding nine meters, a specialized scaffolding training course is required.

Course Foundation
Our courses are based on the work environment regulations applicable to each respective area. Regarding general scaffolding training, our course is primarily based on the provisions concerning “Work Equipment and Personal Protective Equipment – Safe Use” (AFS 2023:11), particularly Chapter 8, which addresses the use of scaffolding. The course is also partly based on the Swedish Work Environment Act (AML 1977:1160). All relevant sections and provisions are covered in the course content and presented in a pedagogical manner through a combination of text, images, videos, and knowledge tests — all designed to make learning as clear and engaging as possible.
